Welcome to the
Richmond Area Municipal Contractors Association

RAMCA was formed to represent the interests of utility, heavy, and highway constructors, and their industry associates, who perform work or conduct business in the greater Richmond metropolitan area. For over forty years RAMCA has provided a forum to work cooperatively with the City of Richmond and surrounding counties on a broad range of mutually important issues relating to the infrastructure needs of the area. In addition, the association provides a way for member firms to participate in a number of activities designed to improve their business practices, and the construction environment in which they work.

These activities include safety seminars, general membership meetings with topical speakers, newsletter mailings and a broad range of other timely industry communications. The association's extensive committee structure provides a way for industry issues to be discussed, and the RAMCA Board of Directors is the governing body that determines what actions, if any, need to be taken in support of the association's goals.

Those goals are:

  • Represent its members in matters affecting the heavy and utility construction industry.
  • Provide a forum for social contact and networking.
  • Provide education and training for members and the community.
  • Provide information about industry issues to its members.
  • Enhance the business environment for the heavy and utility contracting industry.

In addition, RAMCA works closely with our sister organizations in the Virginia Utility and Heavy Contractors Council (www.vuhcc.org) to provide strong legislative and regulatory representation to our members at the state level. VUHCC has a strong track record regarding state legislative initiatives and has taken a lead role in the development of state law and regulation dealing with underground damage prevention. RAMCA also takes pride in its community involvement by each year contributing to numerous charities and awarding college level scholarships to deserving students.

I hope you will find this site useful and welcome your frequent visits.  Your feedback on ways to make our site better is encouraged and your support of RAMCA is greatly appreciated.
